Z, once upon a time there were dragons and vampires and assorted craziness, and you were the person who bullied encouraged me to write and post and write some more, even though I hardly ever finish anything, even though I never really thought I was that good, even though I didn't think I could do it. You also always remember to send me an appropriate non-denominational winter holiday card, even though I always forget to send one to you.

And I can't imagine the vast series of coincidences that it would have taken for us to meet without the internet, so I'm going to go ahead and say that, yeah -- we probably wouldn't know each other, even a little, without it.
