Dude! I so totally just went and did a "Edit-Search" on that crazy Liona fic to make sure I hadn't done that! LOL! (Would "shined" be acceptable if they were shining shoes?)
That thing with the piggy bank is actually a fine old-fashioned idea. My grandpa used to give them as gifts for children's one- or two-year-old birthdays, with half-dollars in them.
