Regardless of one's feelings either for against the war in Iraq, the fact remains that there's a hell of a lot of people over there who are sacrificing a lot.

Because the public is no longer allowed to send mail or CARE packages addressed to "Any Soldier", it's been difficult for many of us who might like to send along a few things.

Here is a link to a bulletin board where you can find information on shipping things like books or snacks, including the individual names and addresses of military personnel.

It never occurred to me that things like fly swatters, Chapstick, and tabasco sauce for spicing up MREs would be in such demand, but of course it's quite logical when you think about it.

There is also quite the demand for reading material. Anything, BUT NOT PORN!!! Apparently, it's illegal in most Middle Eastern countries and can cause serious problems if it makes it to the soldiers.

Go ahead and check out the site. Join the posting board. Send a few packages. What do you have to lose, except maybe a few dollars of your own money for shipping costs?
