Is it just me, or did the last few episodes really come across as big fat shout-outs to the fans?

lucifrix was totally awesome and gave me first crack at the new issue of Entertainment Weekly so that I could read the SPN interview! And I only squealed with delight for a tiny bit. *is proud*
