Last night I dreamed that I was in the cafeteria, getting lunch.
And instead of carved turkey breast, they were serving HUMAN HEADS.
*shudder*
I was afraid to go there for lunch today, just in case.
*gulp*
So . . . had a really busy weekend. On Saturday, I went to the salon-and-spa with my friend Kristin. We both had our hair cut and colored ( and we both went darker! ) and had our eyebrows waxed. Then I had my first-ever facial and she got a massage and a manicure.
It was a lot of fun -- I can totally see why women do this regularly!
On Saturday, my mom came up and we went out to breakfast and then to the mall to Waldenbooks. We were looking for books for the toddler cousin I mentioned a few posts back -- he's already got every toy ever made, and he sure doesn't need more, so books seemed like a good idea.
The difficult part was finding books that would interest a kid who's accustomed to toys that beep and flash and run around on their own.
As an aside, this kid is so overstimulated, he's probably going to have ADD before he even starts school.
So I got a boxed set of board-books, made of heavy-duty cardboard, that are about animals and things and have insets made of fur and feathers and yarn and stuff. They're supposed to teach the kid about texture while he learns the pictures that go with the feel.
*eyes books dubiously*
I hope they don't just get shoved in a closet somewhere and completely put out of mind.
Then I hit the discount section and bought a whole bunch of books for myself! The one about vampires just begged me to buy it, and I also picked up a recipe book, a blank journal, and errrrr . . . something else. I forget what.
Also went to the animal shelter to see a possible canine candidate for adoption, but the poor thing was spending the weekend at the vet. Maybe next week.
Rented four movies, watched two of them.
"The Order" with Heath Ledger, who is very attractive despite not really being attractive at all . . . and "Underworld", a vampire movie with -- surprisingly -- no sex at all.
I rather liked that, especially since my mom was watching it with me.
I did no laundry, no dishes, and no vacuuming, but . . . oh, well. There's always next weekend.
Do de do doot . . . .
*wanders off whistling*
