Spike is NOT dust.

There will be no discussion on this matter; I don't care what Joss has to say about it.

He wouldn't be the first vampire brought back from dust. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

So. The only people on BtVS that *should* have died did not do so -- most inconsiderate of them, I say.

The people who survived all deserved a big SMACK! for trivializing the moment in a truly unbelievable fashion.

Listen up, morons! Spike did not turn himself and Sunnydale into the Bikini atoll because he thought it would be fun! He made a massive sacrifice for a group that never appreciated or even trusted him. The least you lot could do is to feel guilty about said lack of trust and appreciation. There was more genuine pain seen in Andrew for Anya's individual sacrifice than any of the group offered for Spike's overwhelming struggle.

Okay, granted, one could argue that Spike did it for Buffy, not for the group -- but he did it knowing that he was, truly, saving the world, not just one person that he happened to love.

One person who didn't even love him back.

Which, by the way? Totally sucks, so all those people who believe, "'Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all'"?

NOT.

And on to the next show.

Smallville.

Distinct lack of Clark-nudity -- except when marred with Krypto-scarring.

Bad.

Helen shows her true colors.

Good.

Jonathan Kent reaches new heights ( or depths, I suppose ) of Words Deliberately Chosen to Break the Heart of Your Adopted Alien Son.

Very, very bad.

Poor Clark.

For all the times that I want to smack him around for the way he treats Lex, this time, I just wanted to cuddle him to my generous and motherly bosom ( okay, maybe I really wanted to fuck his brains out, but you get the idea. Anyway. ) . . . point is, WOOBIE! So cute.

And Tom Welling seems to have added another facial expression to his repetoire as Clark. He'll be catching up to Angel, next.

I kind of like the idea of Chloe and Lionel in cahoots. Not in an icky-sex way, but in the way of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Plus, I get a sneaky feeling that she's trying to play Lionel as much as he thinks he's playing her.

Never underestimate the manipulative skills of a teenage girl in love.

Hmm . . . what else?

We all know that Lex isn't actually going to drown, but it will be interesting to see if The PTB postulate excessive head injury as the reason for Lex's departure to the dark side.

Oh -- and, Clark? Blowing off the position of best man? Not of the good.

Not much else stuck out.

Overall score: Buffy, 3. Smallville, 5.

I prefer to think that the Scoobs were overwhelmed with the enormity of it all, and they will have lots of Spike-mourning after they get some sleep. BUT...now I can't wait to see how he comes back, if he does at all--I must admit I was/am wondering if all that "Spike is going to Angel" stuff was a huge swerve. Killing off Spike in the finale would be a huge event.

The thought occurred to me as well. I think I hate swerves. :(

I suspect LJ is going to have a lot of "Spike is not dead" userpics soon, too.

I've already spotted several. Though the people I have friended tend to be more broken up about Anya's demise than Spike's. Perhaps they know something I don't know?

Who knows, but it WAS a hell of a cliffhanger if they don't.

And I felt sad about Anya too, especially when Xander was crying. I THOUGHT she was the dying Scooby, but I'm glad I didn't let myself be spoiled.
